Services and approaches to fit your needs
There are two ways of explaining what I do: the needs I can support, and the approaches I use.
You don’t need to know what is right for you before we start.
We’ll explore what you need, and work out what will help you get where you want to go. We can figure that out side by side.
Needs that I can support
People often come to me about life challenges that include the concerns below – not in neat boxes, but in marvelously messy human tangles. The labels help with sense-making, but just come as you.
1. Identity & belonging
If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t know who I am” you’re not alone. Identity is complex, and can shift through change, relationships, and old stories resurfacing, leaving you feeling unanchored.
This is a warm space to explore who you are, where you fit, and what helps you feel at home in yourself.
If you’re longing for clarity, grounding, or a sense of home within yourself, this space is for you.
Who is it for
For people who feel different, doubtful or disconnected from people and places in their lives, including:
LGBTIQA+ and curious people: if you’re exploring identity, relationships, or have suffered shame or exclusion, you are welcome here. I can support you in: exploring identity with curiosity, understanding the impact of past environments, and navigating relationships and boundaries.
Neurodivergent people and their supporters: being wired differently in a neurotypical world can be exhausting. You don’t have to mask here. I can support you to build a life that works with your brain. This could be: understanding your needs, rhythms and boundaries, organisation and time management, social skills, and living with rejection sensitivity or PDA.
It can help when you:
- feel torn between different parts of your life
- want belonging that doesn’t feel conditional
- have adapted to others’ expectations
feel “between worlds” culturally, socially, or personally - want to understand who you are becoming
How I approach it
Together, we explore what feels true, what isn’t yours to carry, and what you want to keep.
This isn’t about labelling you. It’s about understanding your lived experience and reconnecting with the parts of you that feel real.
- Make sense of your story
- Understand what shaped you
- Reconnect with your values
- Build a grounded sense of self
You set the pace and decide what feels safe.
2. Meaning, purpose & direction
Sometimes life seems okay, yet something inside feels unsettled. You might be asking big questions, feeling stuck, or wondering why life no longer feels meaningful.
This work helps you reconnect with yourself and move toward a life that feels grounded and aligned.
If you want to feel more like yourself again, this space is for you.
Who is it for
For when life looks fine on the outside but unfulfilling on the inside.
You may be feeling stuck, lost, or directionless, facing a life change, or wanting to live more authentically.
It can help you when you:
- ache for something more meaningful
- have outgrown old roles
- feeling disconnected from your values
- are longing for a more authentic life
- feel stuck between who you were and who you’re becoming
- want to understand who you are becoming
These experiences can feel unsettling, but they can also be invitations to pause and realign towards something more fulfilling.
How I approach it
Together, we explore what feels true, what isn’t yours to carry, and what you want to keep.
Our work is spacious, reflective, and grounded in curiosity, not pressure.
It’s about making sense of who you are, where you have come from, and what feels most authentic and meaningful for you now. We will:
- explore what gives your life meaning
- understand the stories shaping your direction
- reconnect with your values
- move forward with clarity and intention
You set the pace and decide what feels safe.
You don’t need answers or even clear questions. We figure it out together.
3. Stress, overwhelm & emotional fatigue
You don’t need to be in crisis to deserve support. This is a space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
Stress can come from work, relationships, identity, transitions, or simply the weight of being human in a demanding world.
Stress doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s quiet, persistent, and exhausting. You may be functioning on the outside while feeling stretched thin inside.
If you’re longing for clarity, rest, or simply a moment to breathe, this work can help.
Who is it for
For when your mind won’t switch off, your body feels heavy, or you’re running on fumes.
You may be feeling the weight of all that you have been carrying alone and maybe for some time. This might show up as:
- emotional exhaustion or burnout
- difficulty concentrating
- irritability, numbness, or feeling on edge
- trouble switching off or going through the motions
It can help you when you:
- feel overwhelmed
- are burnt out or close to it
- are juggling too much
- ache for something more meaningful.
How I approach it
No pressure. No judgement. Just space to breathe.
You don’t need to be articulate or organised. You can show up overwhelmed, foggy, flat, or unsure where to start. We figure it out together and I’ll pick approaches that help you:
- understand what’s driving your overwhelm
- build emotional regulation and grounding skills
- reconnect with your values
- create space for rest and recovery
- shift from survival mode into something more sustainable
- rebuild a sense of aliveness and clarity
There’s no pressure or hurry to “fix” everything. We take it gently.
4. Healing or deconstructing from restrictive beliefs
Growing up in restrictive or religious environments can leave deep marks on identity, relationships, boundaries, and self-trust. Even if you’ve left the environment, parts of it may still live in your body, relationships, or inner dialogue. It can leave you with unresolved shame, rejection and needing to rebuild trust in yourself and others.
If you’re trying to understand who you are, or how to move on from who you were told to be, this work can help.
Who is it for
For people who were told who they “should” be — often at the cost of who they actually are
You may be experiencing:
- internalised shame or fear
- difficulty making decisions
- guilt for wanting something different
- confusion about identity, values, or beliefs
It can help if you:
- grew up in a restrictive or high-control environment
- experienced religious pressure, fear, or shame
- are questioning long-held beliefs
- want to connect with your own voice and values.
How I approach it
This is slow, gentle, deeply human work.
My style is warm, reflective, and companion-like. We go at your pace, gently and without pressure.
- understand the stories you were given
- explore who you are outside those expectations
- rebuild self-trust and autonomy
- create a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and yours.
There’s no judgement here. Just space to explore what feels true for you.
5. Making changes or achieving goals
Life coaching is for people who are generally doing okay but want something to change. You might feel stuck, unsure where to start, or ready for more confidence, clarity, or direction.
Life coaching can help with setting and reaching personal or career goals, building confidence, managing time, finding balance, and being more productive. You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need a willingness to explore what’s possible.
If you’re longing for momentum, direction, or possibility, this space is for you.
Who is it for
Future-focused, strengths-based support for people who want to grow, shift, or move toward something more meaningful.
You may be feeling stuck in old patterns, or that you want change or growth but don’t know where to start.
It can help you when you:
- want to make changes but feel stuck
- struggle with motivation and procrastinating
- are facing (or avoiding) change
- want more confidence or clarity
- want support in reaching goals
- are ready to grow gently and sustainably.
How I approach it
Think of it as teamwork for your dreams: you bring your hopes and strengths, and I bring structure, strategies, and support.
We collaborate to:
- clarify what you want
- identify what’s getting in the way
- build a plan that fits your life
- create simple, doable steps and adjust as you grow.
This is coaching that honours your humanity, not external expectations or demands.
Approaches and techniques to meet your needs
Here’s some of the established, evidence-based therapy modalities that I can use and combine to meet your specific needs.
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) can help you learn to stop getting tangled in your head and start living by your values, even when things feel hard. Rather than getting caught up in fighting difficult thoughts and feelings, it’s about acknowledging and accepting them, while focussing your energy on moving purposefully toward what matters to you.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is often helpful for anxiety, depression, and stress. It helps you see how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected, and how to make those connections work better for you (sometimes described in terms of brain plasticity or rewiring neural pathways). It’s practical and goal-focused — helping you catch unhelpful thinking (like “I’m useless”) and train your mind into new ways of thinking and acting.
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) can help if you feel emotions very intensely. It builds skills in four areas: staying present (mindfulness), handling tough moments without making them worse (distress tolerance), managing emotions (emotional regulation), and getting along better with others.
Existential therapy is for when you’re wrestling with big life questions — like purpose, freedom, meaning or death. It doesn’t give answers, but helps you explore what gives your life meaning and how to live more authentically, even in the face of uncertainty.
Narrative therapy sees you as the expert of your own life. Instead of letting problems define you (like “I’m a failure”), you work with the therapist to reframe your story — focusing on your strengths, values, and times you’ve overcome challenges. It’s about rewriting your life story in a way that feels more empowering.
Solutions-focussed therapy is specific and practical. It focuses on looking forwards and making positive changes using your strengths and what’s already working. I’ll help you set clear, achievable goals and work out the steps you can take to reach them. I’ll also support you to overcome problems, stay motivated, keep on track, and celebrate with you when you make it!
Life coaching is also future-focused and action-based, if you are generally doing okay but want to change or grow — like reaching goals, boosting confidence, or improving work-life balance. I can help you clarify what you want, build a plan, and stay on track.
