Find yourself and your way ahead
Areas of support
Life issues: identity; self-worth; belonging; values & beliefs; purpose; roles
Life skills: social skills & relationships; dealing with conflict; self-advocacy
Mental wellbeing: anxiety; stress; thought patterns; emotional sensitivity
Life can leave us feeling lost, disconnected and overwhelmed.
Do you feel like you don’t fit in?
Are you searching for a sense of worth and purpose?
Are you tired of trying to think your way out of feelings?
Do you want to feel like the real you — not the version you use to feel safe, included or “acceptable”?
I gently help people to find their place, their purpose, and their way ahead.
If you’re looking for a counsellor who’s warm, grounded and emotionally attuned, I’d love to walk with you.
Help to find – and feel like – yourself
Hi, I’m Tim — counsellor, meaning‑seeker, and a believer that everyone deserves to thrive as the “real” you.
If you are uncomfortable in the identity, role, body or belief system you have been living with, I’d love to support your walk towards the person you need to be.
I work with young people and adults navigating identity, belonging, purpose, or challenging life circumstances. You may be LGBTIQA+, neurodiverse, socially uncomfortable, spiritually confused, or in a relationship or role that doesn’t fit.
People often come to me when they are living stories that don’t fit, struggling with old burdens, or are weary of outwardly coping but inwardly unravelling.
It can be exhausting and lonely wrestling life in your own head. I’d love to help before it brings you down or burns you out.
If you feel like you don’t fit, you’ll feel at home here.
A bit about me and how I work
Choosing the right counsellor is important. You’re inviting someone into your private, sensitive inner world. You want someone who you feel safe with, and who gets you.
I was born “different”, and have spent my life learning to live in the between spaces. It’s been hard. But it’s given me an intuitive sense for complexity, nuance, and the lonely ache of trying to belong. I’m not easily unsettled or confused by the beautiful, painful messiness of being human.
My approach is warm, reflective, and deeply compassionate. I’ll think with you, feel with you, and hopefully sometimes laugh with you at life’s absurdities.
I take a “person-centred, integrative approach” – I focus on deeply understanding you, and draw from a toolkit of approaches and strategies that fit your needs.
I use well-known and effective therapies to help with thoughts, feelings, experiences, values, roles, relationships and life skills.
That includes helping you navigate a world designed by and for the neuro-typicals, or to support your neuro-fabulous loved one with challenges like rejection sensitivity and demand avoidance.
See the Services page for explanations of the approaches I use.
Meet how and when you’re most comfortable.
You can choose from in-person, online, phone or messaging sessions, including evenings and weekends. We can talk in a private counselling room, take a walk in the bush, or arrange an e-meeting.
You don’t need the perfect words.
You don’t need a neat story.
You just need to bring yourself.
